System Features of the Smart Gun Safe
Dec 09,2022
Smart Gun Safe As the name suggests, it’s a cabinet designed specifically for storing firearms and ammunition. But do you know what makes smart gun safes stand out? And why are people now abandoning traditional storage cabinets in favor of these high-tech solutions?
Smart gun cabinets often come equipped with 24-hour monitoring capabilities, making them incredibly convenient to operate. Whether storing or retrieving firearms—or other items—these tasks are typically handled by either one or two people working together, ensuring the secure handling and protection of the contents. The smart cabinet system continuously logs detailed records of all incoming and outgoing items, allowing custodians to easily access this information at any time. Generally, only authorized personnel can use the system to retrieve items within their approved limits during designated periods. Moreover, the smart gun cabinet is connected to a dedicated smart computer or printer, enabling it to generate customized reports for verification purposes—and even facilitate efficient management for administrative staff. Additionally, the system can instantly produce comprehensive historical data reports, which, with proper authorization, can be printed directly from any compatible computer.
If the designated item is not returned within the specified time, it will be flagged to the central system, triggering an audible alert. Additionally, even in the event of a power outage, the smart gun safe’s anti-fog feature continues to function smoothly—thanks to its integrated UPS power supply. Beyond that, the smart gun safe also supports compatibility with various smart cards, palm-print authentication, and advanced biometric systems, making it incredibly convenient for everyday use.
Among its features, the smart fingerprint recognition system utilizes live fingerprint verification technology. Typically, the time required to capture a fingerprint image is significantly less than 250 milliseconds, while the search process—based on a 1:1 comparison—takes under two seconds. The system boasts high-resolution capabilities and maintains a false acceptance rate well below 0.0001%. In an intelligent gun safe, the device can store up to 1,776 fingerprint templates. It operates at a current draw of 170 milliamps and can function reliably in temperatures ranging from -10°C to 40°C under normal conditions. Additionally, the system enables dual authentication by comparing an individual’s fingerprint template against both their stored biometric data and previously scanned fingerprints, ensuring that neither component alone is sufficient for access.
