How smart gun cabinets comprehensively achieve security informatization
Feb 07,2023
To meet the demands of the information age, it is essential to ensure that functionality aligns with current and future development needs, enhancing both efficiency and security. In this environment, Smart Gun Cabinet Emerging in response to evolving security needs, let’s now explore how the smart gun cabinet achieves comprehensive security and information integration.
The smart gun cabinet consists of a safe, a video surveillance and alarm system, and an intelligent control management system. Its features include:
1. Dual-fingerprint recognition verifies the identity of the person opening the cabinet, checks whether the individual holding the gun is authorized to do so, and confirms whether they’ve received approval from their supervisor.
2. Online submission, approval authorization, network monitoring, and online information retrieval;
3. The system records information such as the cabinet-opening operator, operation time, and usage details.
4. Automatic monitoring status;
5. Monitor the temperature and humidity conditions inside the gun cabinet around the clock.
6. In cases of unauthorized operations, abnormal opening of cabinet doors, or unusual environmental conditions inside the cabinet, the system can automatically trigger an alarm and transmit the alert information via network.
(1) Smart Gun Cabinet Production Standards
The smart gun cabinet is the core and foundation of the entire intelligent safe system, serving as the platform for all other components. The cabinet's shape, dimensions, and resistance to tampering can vary depending on the specific conditions of the user organization's storage facility. Additionally, if carbon structural steel is used, the material must have a tensile strength of at least 345 MPa, and both the cabinet body and door should be at least 8mm thick. If low-alloy high-strength structural steel is chosen instead, the thickness requirement drops to no less than 6mm. Regulatory guidelines clearly mandate separate management practices, resulting in two primary storage approaches: storing items within a single integrated cabinet with compartmentalized management, where each zone and subzone meets identical protection standards.
(II) Intelligent Gun Cabinet Control and Management System
The smart firearm cabinet is a key component of the intelligent dedicated safe. Online approval for retrieval and return, real-time online management, and statistical reporting are all facilitated through this system. It primarily consists of a backend control center, an identity recognition control mechanism, network communication capabilities, and a front-end operational interface.
(1) Control Center: The hardware platform utilizes a currently mainstream processor, while the software platform runs on a single-chip microcontroller-based embedded operating system. It demands stable performance, robust processing capabilities, ease of expansion and upgrades, and high security—resistant to both viruses and hacker attacks. The device is designed to operate reliably in ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to 85°C. Additionally, the management platform is supported by a dedicated server, ensuring 24/7 uninterrupted operation.
(2) Identity Verification and Control Mechanism: The unlocking information for the electronic lock is stored both in the gun cabinet system and backed up on a server, with real-time synchronization between the two. Dual or multi-factor authentication methods—such as fingerprints, passwords, and other biometric data—along with gun permit verification and optional alcohol detection devices, are used to open the cabinet door, ensuring multiple layers of security.
(3) Network Communication: The smart gun cabinet leverages the processor's built-in networking capabilities to connect to relevant networks, enabling it to transmit data and send alarm signals. When it comes to network communication, it’s crucial to ensure that robust encryption measures are in place to prevent unauthorized access, interception, or tampering of transmitted information.
